Determining fundamental parameters of QCD on the lattice

چکیده

The natural choice for the fundamental parameters of QCD are the renormalization group invariant (RGI) quark masses, Mi, i = u, d, ..., and the Λ-parameter. The RGI masses do not depend on a renormalization scheme and the scheme dependence of the Λ-parameter is exactly given by a one-loop coefficient. These quantities are in principle free of perturbative uncertainties. Their determination from low energy hadron data is a relevant mission for lattice QCD. Before entering details, we discuss a few aspects of more conventional determinations of α (and Λ). One considers experimental observables Oi depending on an overall energy scale q and possibly some additional kinematical variables denoted by y. The observables can be computed in a perturbative series which is usually written in terms of the MS coupling αMS = ḡ 2 MS /4π, 2 (μ = q)

Data Envelopment Analysis from simulation on the Lattice QCD using CCR model

One of the most serious principles in production theory in economic is the principle of "efficiency". Simply put, efficiency can be defined as the demand that the desired goals (outputs) are achieved with the minimum use of the available resources (inputs). In order to, distinguish the relative efficiency of organizational units with multiple inputs to produce multiple outputs, "Data Envelopmen...

Status of Lattice QCD

Significant progress has recently been achieved in the lattice gauge theory calculations required for extracting the fundamental parameters of the standard model from experiment. Recent lattice determinations of such quantities as the kaon B parameter, the mass of the b quark, and the strong coupling constant have produced results and uncertainties as good or better than the best conventional d...

Comparing the Bidirectional Baum-Welch Algorithm and the Baum-Welch Algorithm on Regular Lattice

A profile hidden Markov model (PHMM) is widely used in assigning protein sequences to protein families. In this model, the hidden states only depend on the previous hidden state and observations are independent given hidden states. In other words, in the PHMM, only the information of the left side of a hidden state is considered. However, it makes sense that considering the information of the b...

Pushing lattice QCD to the edge: flavor physics

While CKM angles often exhibit clean relationships with standard model observables, the sides of the unitarity triangle often require lattice computations in order to extract fundamental Standard Model parameters from experimental data. I will cover some of the most recent advances in flavor physics, in particular in the b and c sectors. While the former sees lattice QCD as one of the most impo...
